Monk is Columbo's brother and both were rescued from an industrial area near the Palo Alto baylands.  Monk (or Columbo) ran into the lobby of an office building during an outdoor party, and one of the staff took him home.  Monk & Columbo are twins, but Monk has a more symmetrical pattern of white on his face.  Both are playful and energetic, and like to purr and run around.
